Wonderful news! I am employed! Blue Cross of Tennessee. In Chattanooga! HORAY! The past week was a whirlwind and the next will be just as crazy if not crazier.
I have been doing a lot of thinking, about places to find solid friends. I could join my sororities alum group in the area, but then I think about the people who are still stuck in that world from my chapter... They wouldn't be great friends. I could join a Young professionals club... Do you make friends or drinking buddies there? ..or are those the same thing?! I could try joining a new sports club... but let's be real, We know I am not athletic.
So I am reaching out to you: Where would you look for friends in a new city?

Red Bull and Vodka Please. . .
Lately everyone has noticed how stressed I have been. I couldn't even begin to explain why, I just feel overwhelmed. I can't decide if its because somethings looming or its my usual winter blues. I miss my dad more in the winter because of his birthday and the holidays.
I am going to do the best to keep my spirits high, I soaked in the hot tub tonight and remembered my loved for water. I also looked for a new tanning bed, because fake sun is the next best thing. So my question to you is: What keeps your Winter Blues Away ?
Look how cute we are :) Me and Dad 1988 |

I get by with a little help from my friends. . .
Favs.
Being in Tennessee makes me so happy. I am really lucky to have a solid group of friends who are always there for me. It's strange to me that even 3 hours away, I can still be so content with who I have. :) No matter, if its my girls (some pictured above) or my fraternity (Sweetheart Status, pictured below) Or the wonderful group of friends in ATO who were recently rediscovered (all those pictures were on the computer that got swiped 2 years ago, sad) I am very grateful for them. These pictures are from this past weekend at MTSU's Homecoming which was a great time. It's nice to get together once in a while and enjoy great company. I am thinking of trying to plan something with my friends around christmas. Sigma Pi
Meanwhile, back in the homeland I have some promising things coming up. Nothing I am ready to talk about but I am doing my best to make the best of the situation. Haha!
I guess I will wrap this up short and sweet. . . I want to review the new Darius Rucker CD, Which will prob be my next post. But I'll throw this out there, if anyone reads. What were your thoughts. Or what's the next CD I should invest in?

You had me a Merlot...
This weekend I attended my first networking event. It was surprisingly not terrifying. I was lucky enough to have one of my favorite people there to help the process along and ease my tension. I met some good people, all MTSU alum and all very friendly.
I wonder why I haven't done this sooner? It's been obvious from day one that I am in a "Who do you know?" kind of field, but I have had a hard time growing the balls to get out there and meet people. I am glad I went. I am more than ready to have a job, but I am still a little confused about what I want to do..
Somewhere between my second red bull and vodka and the walk to my car it hit me. . . I am just ready to be independent knowing that I have enough money to cover all my bills. It shouldn't take me 3 pay checks to cover my phone bill... Not with a diploma. I would like a job where I get along with my co-workers. I wish people wouldn't blame their lack of a job on the economy, that just makes you look lazy there are jobs out there.. every single day I sift through hundreds of jobs.. So I know they are out there. I just have to figure out how to mold what I have to what they are looking for.
Tomorrow is a new day. A new search and I know it is just a matter of time before something turns up. Because someone will see in me what I see in myself.

Here we go..
So here it is, I am giving into another form of social media because my friends have made it seem appealing. We'll see if this has the staying power that some of my other guilty pleasures.
I think it seems obvious that the biggest focus in my life right now is my career search. I am, like many of my friends, at a loss because I feel like five years of working towards my degree (that magical piece of paper) has only amounted to "Is plastic okay?" Most people don't think about that question much but historically it's "Paper or plastic?" We don't ask that.. Cashiers/Baggers ask you "Is plastic okay?" because paper bags are a pain in the ass, they are hard to load, time consuming and once you are done they are awkward when you are trying to transfer them from the register back to the cart. Kind of like the transition between college and the real world. It's frustrating, awkward, overwhelming, and a huge cluster-fuck and at the end of the day.. you end up back at square one. (still working in a grocery store... a Wal Mart, a department store..)
I have had some failed interviews, no where awesome.. I have a spread sheet of all the places I have sent resumes, with a row for responses I received (Not Qualified, Pursuing other Candidates, No longer filling this position)..
So what my next move?
Disney Princess:
I think I could pull of Bell from Beauty and the Beast, just grow may hair out... brown hair, brown eyes, flawless olive skin.. it's like Walt Disney intended for me to take this position over. I mean, we all know that I am busty like her. Who wouldn't wanna be a princess for a living? I feel like she's less prissy than Cinderella like she could shot gun a beer, burp so loud it shakes the room and smile still remaining precious as ever.
Peace Corps:
Plain and Simple, I love travel: move to somewhere like Peru for two years, which defers or CANCELS some of my student loans.. and when the world ends in 2012 I don't have to pay for the rest of my loans anyway! Yay Debt relief!
Teach for America:
So, I don't like kids. They are annoying and germy. Maybe I'd like troubled inner-city kids? ... Prob Not. *NEXT!*
Wienermoblie attempt 2:
I have had a year to think about this. I still love hot dogs, and condiments for that matter. Sadly, there is a good chance this is is my best bet of all the above.
Where oh where are the jobs?! Anyone?
